Don’t let the present limit your future!
People tend to make critical decisions based on only limited information available up to a certain time. This is the decision making based on what is called the “closed world assumption” by computer scientists and artificial intelligence people. I advise my students always to take a look at the long horizon of life, reserving room for future changes in their decision space. Chasing local maximums aggressively based on limited information does not necessarily lead to a success in the life.
Set your goal high and manage it!
As your achievement will be limited by your goal. Don’t be afraid to break out the common pattern.
